Iowa State Opens Spring at UNI Spring Tournament

AMES, Iowa – The Iowa State volleyball team opens up the 2017 spring season tomorrow at UNI with the UNI Spring Tournament. Action at the UNI Wellness and Recreation Center starts at 9 a.m.

Iowa State's schedule is as follows:
9 a.m. – vs Iowa, Court 3
10 a.m. – vs. UNI, Court 1
11 a.m. – vs. Iowa Ice, Court 3
12:30 p.m. – vs. Drake, Court 3

Admission to the event is free, fans should enter through the west side of the WRC. Spectators are encouraged to bring their own seating, as only limited seating will be available in the gym.

Head coach Christy Johnson-Lynch and her 2017 Cyclone squad have been hard at work getting ready for the next three weeks of competition. The schedule on Saturday features many familiar faces, as the Cyclones will start the day against yearly in-state rivals in Iowa and UNI.

There will be many familiar faces on the Cyclone side of the net, as ISU has nine letterwinners from last season's squad that guided the program to its 11th-straight NCAA Volleyball Championship appearance. The spring campaign also offers a first glimpse of a pair of Cyclone newcomers in transfer outside hitter Josie Herbest and freshman setter Piper Mauck.
