AMES, Iowa – There will be many eyes focused on Joel Lanning in 2017.

The senior co-captain is without a doubt one of the most valuable players on the Iowa State football team. He spent his first four years as a quarterback, but made the switch to linebacker heading into spring practice.

The experiment has been a success, as Lanning heads into his final fall camp as a strong candidate to start at one of the linebacker spots.

The Ankeny, Iowa native sat down with John Walters in our latest CyCast to talk about the switch and many other topics.
