AMES, Iowa – The Iowa State Athletics Department has teamed up with the Extra Yard for Teachers program to help give back to several school districts in the state of Iowa.
The College Football Playoff Foundation, which serves as the philanthropic division for the College Football Playoff, helps teams support education efforts in their communities from early childhood through high school. Extra Yard for Teachers is the main initiative for the CFP Foundation and helps educate, inspire and empower teachers.
Universities that choose to take up the Extra Yard for Teachers initiative are provided with a gift card to help teachers in their community. Teachers can list their projects and needs at donorschoose.org, which connects them to people who can help. Iowa State is excited to join with many around the country in giving back to the schools in the state of Iowa. This year, Iowa State was able to help support:
North Hill Elementary – Burlington, Iowa
Hoover Elementary School – Cedar Rapids, Iowa
Findley Elementary School – Des Moines, Iowa
Irving Elementary School – Sioux City, Iowa
Urbandale High School – Urbandale, Iowa
