AMES, Iowa - The Iowa State gymnastics team begins the 2018 season on the road with a quad meet at Arizona State on Saturday. The meet will see the Cyclones take on the host Sun Devils, No. 14 Auburn and No. 20 Iowa. The meet will begin at Tempe's Wells Fargo Arena at 5 p.m. Central Time.
Tickets are on sale now, here, or can be purchased on the day of the meet at the Wells Fargo Arena ticket office.
Arizona State will be providing a free live stream of the meet, here. Live results for the meet can be accessed, here. Updates will also be provided on the Iowa State Gymnastics Twitter account, @CycloneGYM.
The 2018 Cyclones will have a familiar look, with all of Iowa State's 2017 routines returning to the roster this season. The Cyclones did take steps to progress last season, returning to the NCAA Regionals and the RoadToNationals Top 25 during the 2017 season. The senior class will be leading the way, with Kelsey Paz and Haylee Young both candidates to all-around on Saturday and throughout the season.
The first meet of the season will also give the chance for the newcomers to make their Iowa State debut. Freshmen Ariana Orrego and Sophia Steinmeyer are both slated to make their debuts, while mid-year enrollee Natalia Ros Vaquer could also make an appearance for the Cyclones.
