AMES, Iowa – The Iowa State Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) is promoting its annual Soles4Souls shoe drive across campus and throughout the city of Ames.
The initiative of the drive is to collect new and gently used shoes to donate to Soles4Souls, a nonprofit organization that distributes shoes across the world for those in need.
The drive will run through Feb. 23 with donation boxes accessible at various campus locations: Jacobson Athletic Building, Lied Recreation Center and State Gymnasium. Boxes are also located at local Ames Racquet and Fitness centers.
Student-athletes will also be collecting shoes in the south concourse at Hilton Coliseum this weekend at the women's basketball game vs. Texas Tech (Feb. 17) and the wrestling meet vs. Iowa (Feb. 18).
