Five Volleyball Matches Set for National TV

AMES, Iowa – The Iowa State volleyball team will be on national TV four times during the 2018 season, the Big 12 announced Wednesday. All four of ISU's national TV games will originate out of Hilton Coliseum, a quartet which includes a non-conference match and three Big 12 contests.
Iowa State's home matches against Syracuse (Sept. 16), Texas (Oct. 24) and Kansas State (now Oct. 26) will be on ESPNU, while the Cyclones' Sept. 22 matchup against Baylor will be on FSN. The Cyclones' match at defending NCAA champs Nebraska on Sunday, Sept. 9 will be on ESPNU as well.
The Cyclones' trip to Lincoln to take on Nebraska on Sunday, Sept. 9 will be on ESPNU, with first serve being moved up an hour to 1 p.m. from the originally announced 2 p.m. start time.
ISU's match against Syracuse on Sunday, Sept. 16, the finale of the Cyclone Classic, has been moved back half an hour to a noon start time to accommodate the national TV selection and will be on ESPNU.
The Sept. 22 match against Baylor will be played at 3 p.m. inside Hilton Coliseum and broadcast on FSN. This time is set regardless of what time the football game against Akron on that same day.
Iowa State and Texas will meet on Oct. 24, with the originally announced start time of 6:30 p.m. being pushed back to 8 p.m. to accommodate the ESPNU broadcast. The Cyclones were the last team to defeat the defending conference champion Longhorns in Big 12 play, back in Nov. 2016.
The date for the Cyclones' home match against Kansas State has been pushed up a day, with the match now taking place on Friday, Oct. 26 at 7 p.m. on ESPNU. The Cyclones picked up their first season sweep over K-State since 2012 last season, and have won the previous 10 meetings between the two teams inside Hilton Coliseum.
With the national TV selections made, Iowa State can also confirm that all the other 2018 home matches will be shown on Cyclones.TV Powered by Mediacom and the Cyclones.TV web player. This season's Cyclones.TV lineup features all three of ISU's opening weekend matches against Ole Miss (Aug. 24) and Virginia and Oregon State (Aug. 25). The Iowa Corn Cy-Hawk Series meeting on Sept. 14 will also be among the non-conference offerings. Cyclones.TV will also be your source for the final two matches of the regular season over the Thanksgiving week, the Wednesday, Nov. 21 match against Kansas and the Nov. 23 Senior Day meeting with Texas Tech.
