URBANDALE, Iowa - Iowa State improved to 2-0 on the season with a 6-1 win over South Dakota Saturday at Life Time Fitness.

Annabella Bonadonna set the school record for most career doubles victories after winning in the #1 doubles spot. The Caracas, Venezuela native now has 81 career doubles wins.

Iowa State clinched the doubles point after Regina Espindola and Ekaterina Repina downed South Dakota's Nanette Nylund and Emma Tranberg, 6-2.

Freshman Ekaterina Grib remained unbeaten on the day after she downed Natka Kmoskova, 6-0, 6-1. The Minsk, Belarus native was dominant in singles action Saturday as she only dropped three games in two matches.

Annabella Bonadonna had a dominant performance as she defeated Luana Stanciu 6-1, 6-1 in the #5 singles spot. No. 74 Maty Cancini and Ekaterina Repina both won their singles matches to push the Cyclones ahead, 5-0.

The #2 and #6 singles spots provided the closest matches of the day. South Dakota's Habiba Aly downed Regina Espindola, 6-7 (2), 7-6 (4), 1-0 (7). Margarita Timakova defeated Nanette Nylund, 5-7, 6-3, 1-0 (12).

Iowa State returns to action at Wisconsin Saturday February, 2 at 11 a.m.
