AMES, Iowa – The No. 6 Iowa State men will conclude their regular season slate with the Nuttycombe Wisconsin Invitational on Friday, Oct. 18. It will be a great test for the Cyclones heading into the postseason as 20 of the nation's top-30 teams are set to race on Friday afternoon.
The Thomas Zimmer Championship Cross Country Course, which hosted the 2018 NCAA Championships, will once again be the stage for the Nuttycombe. The men's 8K "B" race will begin at 11:40 a.m., followed by the men's 8K Championship race at 1 p.m.
Last season, ISU posted its best ever finish at the Nuttycombe, finishing fourth as a team. It was the spring board to Edwin Kurgat's historic postseason run, as he finished runner-up individually, less than one second behind eventual NCAA Champion, Morgan McDonald.
In Iowa State's first meet of the season, the Cardinal and Gold took third place as a team at the John McNichols Invitational, behind an individual first-place performance from Kurgat.
The Nuttycombe Invitational will be streamed live on FloTrack. Live results are available through the link above. Follow along with CycloneTrackXC for race updates and final results, as well.
