STILLWATER, Okla. – Iowa State's Cailie Logue raced to her second-straight individual NCAA Midwest Regional Championship on Friday morning. The two-time Big 12 Champ finished eight seconds clear of the field, crossing the 6K finish line in 20:20.6. With her victory, Logue has qualified for the NCAA Championships as an individual.
The Cyclones raced to a sixth-place finish as a team at the Midwest Regional Championships with 192 team points. Illinois was the team champion with 108 points.
Senior Abby Caldwell joined Cailie Logue on the All-Region list. She finished 15th individually in 21:05.3.
Freshmen Dana Feyen and Madelynn Hill, and junior Larkin Chapman all posted top-65 performances. Feyen finished 51st in 21:56.6, Hill took 62nd in 22:06.5 and Chapman finished 65th in 22:10.0.
Freshman Janette Schraft and sophomore Alexis Gourrier rounded out the Cyclone lineup in Stillwater. Schraft ran the course in 22:37.3 to finish 102nd and Gourrier finished 180th in 23:52.3.
Next Up
Cailie Louge has advanced to the NCAA Championships next Saturday, Nov. 23, in Terre Haute, Ind. The women's race is set to begin at 10:15 a.m. CT.
