AMES, Iowa – Three Iowa State men's basketball student-athletes have been named to the 2019 Academic All-Big 12 Men's Basketball Team.
Redshirt freshman Eric Steyer is the Big 12's only men's basketball player with a 4.00 GPA. He was joined on the first team by redshirt junior Michael Jacobson, while redshirt senior Zoran Talley Jr. was named to the second team.
Steyer, a statistics major from Ames, has played in 10 games in his first season on the team.
Jacobson, a finance major from Waukee, Iowa, has started all 28 games for the Cyclones and is averaging 11.9 points to go along with a team-high 5.8 rebounds. Jacobson is third in the Big 12 Conference shooting 58.8 percent from the field.
Talley Jr. is a senior from Merrillville, Indiana seeking his graduate degree in community and regional planning. Talley has played in 18 games for the Cyclones this season.
