WORTH NOTING
1. Iowa State will celebrate the careers of seniors Marial Shayok, Zoran Talley Jr. and Nick Weiler-Babb prior to and following Saturday's game...ISU has won on Senior Day in seven of the last eight seasons.
2. ISU owns a top-10 offense nationally, its third time in four seasons under Steve Prohm ranking inside the nation's top-15...since 2013-14, ISU has had a top-15 offense five times in six seasons.
3. Marial Shayok was named a finalist for the Julius Erving Award, given annually to the nation's top small forward...Shayok missed Wednesday's game at Wst Virginia (left foot) and his status for Saturday is uncertain.
4. The Cyclones are looking to win 21 games in the regular season for just the eighth time in school history.
5. Iowa State has hit a three-pointer in 397 consecutive games...in home Big 12 games, ISU is shooting 38.7 percent behind the arc as a team and making 8.8 threes per contest, both above its season average.
LAST TIME OUT: CYCLONES FALL AT WEST VIRGINIA
• Iowa State fell to West Virginia, 90-75, Wednesday evening...the Cyclones fell behind by 21 at the half and managed to trim the lead to 10 with 9:21 remaining before Jordan McCabe's fifth 3-pointer of the game halted the comeback attempt.
• ISU was led by 17 points from Wigginton, who started in place of an injured Shayok...Haliburton (12), Horton-Tucker (11) and Weiler-Babb (10) were also in double figures.
IOWA STATE-TEXAS TECH SERIES NOTES
• Iowa State and Texas Tech are meeting for the 35th time...ISU owns a 20-14 edge in the series, including 13-3 in Ames (12-3 at Hilton Coliseum)...the Cyclones have won six of the last eight meetings,including four of the last five....ISU has won the last seven meetings in Ames, with Tech's last win at Hilton Coliseum coming in 2011.
• Texas Tech is one of four Big 12 schools that ISU owns an edge in the all-time series...the others are Baylor, TCU and West Virginia.
• The Cyclones won the first meeting in Lubbock, 68-64, behind 20 points from Shayok and 14 from Jacobson...Weiler-Babb and Wigginton were both in double figures with 11 points each...the game was tied with under two minutes left but the Cyclones got critical buckets from Weiler-Babb and Wigginton to earn the win...Jacobson finished with a 14 point-10 rebound double-double as ISU held a 39-37 edge on the glass...the Cyclones also had just nine turnovers.
• Steve Prohm is 5-2 against Texas Tech and 5-1 against Chris Beard.
