Haliburton, USA Basketball To Quarterfinals

HERAKLION, Greece – USA Basketball and Iowa State men's basketball sophomore Tyrese Haliburton advanced to the quarterfinals of the FIBA U19 World Cup with a decisive 116-66 victory over Latvia Wednesday in Greece.
Haliburton had a solid all-around game for the Americans, finishing with five points, six assists, four rebounds and two steals in 17 minutes of action as a starter. The Oshkosh, Wisconsin native was 2-for-3 from the field, connecting on his only three-point attempt.
The United States scored 39 points off turnovers and got 67 points from its bench.
Haliburton is averaging 8.5 points, 2.8 rebounds, 2.0 steals and a team-high 6.5 assists in four games.
The United States will face Russia on Friday. Start time will be announced later. The game will be televised on ESPN+.
