HERAKLION, Greece – Iowa State's Tyrese Haliburton had 10 points, seven assists and a team-high five steals to help lead USA Basketball past Russia, 95-80, Friday in the quarterfinals of the FIBA U19 World Cup in Greece.
The Iowa State sophomore continues to impress in his first international experience. Haliburton finished 4-for-6 from the field, including 2-for-4 behind the arc.
The Oshkosh, Wisconsin native is now shooting 65 percent from the field and 64.3 percent behind the arc in five games. He is averaging 8.8 points, 6.6 assists and 2.6 steals in the tournament.
The United States will face Lithuania, which it defeated 102-84 in the group stage, Saturday in the semifinals. Start time will be announced later. The game can be streamed on ESPN+.
