AMES, Iowa – The Iowa State football team began preparations for the 2019 season with its first practice on Friday. The back-to-back Big 12 Coach of the Year (2017 and 2018) Matt Campbell brings back 22 players who have at least three starts in their careers.
Campbell held a pair of split-squad practices on opening day. Fall camp will conclude on Aug. 23 and ISU's season-opener is Aug. 31 vs. UNI at MidAmerican Energy Field at Jack Trice Stadium.
