Iowa State Urges Caution With Secondary Ticket Market

AMES, Iowa – With a robust ticket market in advance of Saturday's football game between Iowa State and Iowa, the Cyclone ticket office is reminding fans to be cautious when shopping for and purchasing game tickets through secondary sources.

The athletics department has received reports of counterfeit tickets circulating through unauthorized resellers. Ticket buyers are strongly encouraged to do research on potential sellers in order to avoid purchasing counterfeit tickets.

Fans are advised to only buy verified tickets through Iowa State Ticket Exchange powered by Ticketmaster. This is the ONLY fan-to-fan resale marketplace authorized by Iowa State Athletics. All of those tickets are verified and transactions are completed online, with tickets and payment processed electronically. There are no personal payments, which is often a source of counterfeit tickets.

The Iowa State Athletics Department has no affiliation with Craigslist, eBay, StubHub, SeatGeek, Vivid Seats or other sources meaning tickets purchased through those outlets are not verified. The department can offer no assistance if issues arise on purchases from those sellers.
