AMES, Iowa – Registration is now open for 2020 Cyclone Volleyball Camps and Spring Clinics. Registration can be completed online, here.
Spring clinics, which will take place at the Forker Building on the Iowa State campus, begin with the eight two-hour-session, once-a-week Grade 6-12 clinic, starting on Feb. 17. Players will work on one skill per day, and then transfer that knowledge through small group games at the end of each day. This eight-week clinic costs $200 per camper.
There is also a Little Cyclones Clinic, for grades K-5, which starts on March 23 and goes for one hour each week. These clinics are deigned to have fun and develop motor skills through the sport of volleyball. The clinic will teach the fundamentals of volleyball (passing, setting, hitting, serving and defense) through age-specific drills. The four-week classes cost $60 per camper.

Summer camp season begins with Junior Cyclone Camp from June 15-18. An introductory camp for students in grades 1-8 which takes place in the evenings, Junior Cyclone Camp focuses on teamwork and individual volleyball skills.
There is a one-day hitters camp on June 23, for grade 5-12. Campers will be instructed on footwork, arm swing and shot selection. As part of the hitter camp, there are 20 slots available for setters to come in and set live hitters for the final two hours of the camp.
On the evening of June 23 will be Iowa State's first of two serving camps, a new addition to the lineup this year and open to grades 5-12. A two-hour clinic, campers will learn basic techniques and styles of serves. More advanced servers will work on serving zones, arm speed and strategies.
July 7-9 will see the All Skills camp for grades 8-12. The camp is divided up by position and includes individual drills based on position as well as competition and team-focused drills. This camp has resident and commuter options.
Setters and liberos will have their own camps, set for July 14-15, which each camp lasting one day. Setter camp is on July 14 and focuses on hand position and footwork. Libero camp will take place July 15 and focus on passing and defense in an effort to improve back row skills. These camps are open for grades five and up, and campers can sign up for both at a discounted rate.
On the evening of July 14, Iowa State will host another serving camp, which like the first one will be for grades 5-12.
Spots are also open for Iowa State's team camps. There are three high school team camps that will go two days each: July 27-28, July 29-30 and Aug. 1-2. Day one features competitive drills against another team, and day two has a tournament format. Teams will get the opportunity to get an inside look at the drills the Cyclones use with their own team.
