OVERLAND PARK, Kan. – Iowa State senior football players Chase Allen and Greg Eisworth were both selected today as candidates for the 2020-21 Senior CLASS Award in collegiate football.
The Senior CLASS Award is given annually to a senior student-athlete who excels both on and off the field and has notable achievements in four areas of excellence: community, classroom, character and competition.
Allen and Eisworth are two of 30 candidates for the award.
A native of Nixa, Mo., Allen was Iowa State's nominee for the NFF Campbell Trophy and is president of the ISU Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC). Three times in his career, Allen was a First Team Academic All-Big 12 selection (2017, 2018, 2019).
On the field, the two-time All-Big 12 tight end is having one of his finest seasons as a Cyclone. Allen, a member of ISU's outstanding tight end trio, has 13 catches for 173 yards and two touchdowns.
Eisworth, a native of Grand Prairie, Texas, has been one of the Cyclones undisputed leaders the past three seasons.
Voted a team captain in 2019, Eisworth is a strong voice on the team's leadership council in 2020 and was a Second Team Academic All-Big 12 pick in 2019.
The defensive back is one of four Cyclones in school history to be named First Team All-Big 12 (1996-present), tallying 182 tackles, 9.0 tackles for loss and three interceptions in his career.
Eisworth has posted 30 tackles and an interception in 2020 and has 28 career starts.
