COLUMBIA, Mo. – The No. 19 Iowa State wrestling team (9-5, 6-1 Big 12) fell to No. 24 Missouri (12-7, 8-0 MAC) by a final tally of 27-6 on Saturday afternoon. The Tigers claimed eight out of the 10 bouts on the afternoon.
How It Happened
No. 8 Alex Mackall got the dual started for the Cyclones with a win. He took on 28th-ranked Cameron Valdiviez at 125 pounds. Mackall scored on three takedowns, a reversal and racked up 1:55 of riding time in a 9-5 decision over the Tiger.
Mackall's momentum was stymied by Missouri. The Cyclones dropped eight matches in a row, pushing the Tigers' lead to as many as 27-3. Four of those eight matches were one or two-point matches, in which the Cyclones couldn't get over the hump for the win.
