AMES, Iowa – Former Iowa State basketball player Jared Homan epitomized toughness.
Homan loved Iowa State, and he wore his emotions on his sleeve. The bruising center did all the dirty work, helping the Cyclones advance to the NIT Final Four in 2004 and to the second round of the NCAA Tournament in 2005.
Homan and the Cyclones faced eventual national champion North Carolina in the second round of the NCAA Tournament in 2005 and the Remsen, Iowa native posted a game for the ages. Facing off against All-American Sean May, Homan posted 19 points and 20 rebounds in one of the greatest individual performances by a Cyclone in postseason history.
He is still Iowa State's all-time leader in career blocked shots with 235.
Homan, who went onto an outstanding 11-year professional career in Europe, is one of the most revered players in school history and we caught up with the Cyclone legend in our latest CyCast.
