AMES, Iowa – National Football League training camps are opening up and a total of 12 former Cyclones are currently on NFL rosters.
Seven of the Cyclones are veterans and five are rookies, including Matt Leo (Philadelphia Eagles), Josh Knipfel (Cincinnati Bengals), Marcel Spears Jr. (Cincinnati Bengals), Julian Good-Jones (Philadelphia Eagles) and Steve Wirtel (Detroit Lions).
Allen Lazard is heading into his third season in the NFL and is eager to capitalize on a breakout sophomore campaign where he caught 35 passes for 477 yards and three touchdowns for the Green Bay Packers.
David Montgomery was one of the top rookie running backs in the NFL in 2019, rushing for 889 yards and six touchdowns for the Chicago Bears.
Both Montgomery and Lazard will be focal points of their teams' offenses, respectively.
