AMES, Iowa – Iowa State's second home volleyball match vs. Oklahoma, originally scheduled for Friday, Oct. 30 at 6:30 p.m. has been moved to Sunday, Nov. 1 at 2 p.m. to accommodate an ESPNU broadcast, the Big 12 announced as part of its volleyball national TV package on Tuesday.
The Cyclones and Sooners were both NCAA Championship qualifiers last season and split their season series via defending their respective home courts. OU took down ISU in Norman 3-1 on Oct. 19, before Iowa State bounced back to pick up a 3-1 victory over Oklahoma on Nov. 15.
Iowa State comes into the abbreviated 2020 off making it to the NCAA Volleyball Championships for the 13th time in the past 14 seasons under the guidance of head coach Christy Johnson-Lynch. Iowa State returns everyone except the graduated Josie Herbst from its 2019 squad. Senior middle blocker Candelaria Herrera and junior right side Eleanor Holthaus were both named to the 2020 All-Big 12 Preseason Team earlier in the summer.
With the national TV schedule confirmed, Iowa State is also able to confirm the viewing plans for its remaining matches. ISU's other seven home matches, along with both matches at Kansas State, West Virginia and TCU will be shown live exclusively on Big 12 Now on ESPN+. The Cyclones' matches at Texas on Oct. 8-9 will be shown on Longhorn Network.
The Cyclones open the 2020 volleyball season at Kansas State on Friday, Sept. 25 at 6:30 p.m., which will be streamed live on Big 12 Now on ESPN+.
