AMES, Iowa – Iowa State senior Cailie Logue has been named the United States Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association National Female Athlete of the Week. It's the first time of her career that she's earned the award and the second-straight season that a Cyclone has been named National Athlete of the Week.
The two-time defending Big 12 and NCAA Midwest Regional champ raced to a first-place finish at the Bob Timmons Classic on Saturday. Her 5k time of 17:08.4 was 42 seconds clear of the field and good for her seventh-career individual victory.
Logue and the Cyclones will be back in action on Oct. 3 at the Cowboy Jamboree in Stillwater, Okla. The women's 5k is set to begin at 9:15 a.m. from the OSU Cross Country Course.
