AMES, Iowa - The Iowa State football team ended the 2020 season ranked in the top-10 of the final Associated Press poll at No. 9.Â
It marks just the third time in school history the Cyclones were rated at the end of the season: 1976 (#19), 2000 (#25).Â
Iowa State recorded one of its finest seasons in the history of the program in 2020, breaking the school record for conference wins at 8-1 and tying the school record for overall wins at 9-3.Â
The Cyclones appeared in their first New Year's Six bowl, defeating No. 25 Oregon, 34-17, in the PlayStation Fiesta Bowl.Â
Iowa State, which was ranked as high as No. 6 in the CFP poll during the season, its highest ranking ever, will return at least nine starters on both offense and defense for 2021.Â
