STILLWATER, Okla. – Iowa State's Wesley Kiptoo led the Cyclones to their fourth-straight top-eight finish at the NCAA Championships on Monday with an All-American performance. Iowa State finished eighth as a team with 265 team points.
Northern Arizona collected the men's team title behind a 60-point team performance.
Kiptoo, who won the NCAA title in the men's indoor 5k on Friday, was back in action at the NCAA Cross Country Championships. The Marakwet, Kenya, native finished third individually in a tight lead pack to claim All-America honors. He ran the 10k course in 29:54.9 to become Iowa State's 41st All-American in school history.
Mitchell Day and Festus Lagat finished just outside of All-America contention at the OSU Cross Country Course. Day finished 41st individually with a time of 30:46.7. Lagat finished closely behind in 53rd with a time of 31:02.6.
Senior, and four-time All-Big 12 performer, Thomas Pollard put up a top-100 effort at the NCAA Championships. He finished 91st individually, crossing the finish line in 31:26.0.
In 122nd-place, it was Chad Johnson with a time of 31:50.5. Ezekiel Rop posted a time of 31:57.0 for a 130th-place finish, and four-time All-Big 12 honoree Milo Greder raced to a 146th-place finish behind a time of 32:09.2.
