St. Louis, Mo. – Iowa State (21-5) defeated Saint Louis (5-11), 7-2, on Saturday in game two of a three-game series at the Billiken Sports Center. Senior shortstop Sami Williams went 3-of-4 at the plate with three RBI and scored two runs to propel the Cyclone offense.
Mikayla Ramos, a junior, was 2-of-3 with a home run and three RBI of her own. Ellie Spelhaug improved to 8-1 on the season, giving up just one run on two hits in 6.1 innings of relief work.
Iowa State 7, Saint Louis 2
Ramos started the day off with a bang. Following a one-out base hit for Williams in the top of the first, Ramos dug in and hit her fourth home run of the season to give Iowa State a 2-0 advantage. Ramos' four home runs are the second-most on the team this season.
Saint Louis scored its first run before recording its first hit of the day. The Billikens used a hit batter and three walks to cut the lead to 2-1 in the bottom of the first. However, Ellie Spelhaug entered with the bases loaded and worked her way out of trouble with no further damage done.
Williams collected her second hit of the day in the top of the second inning. The native of Laguna Niguel, Calif., drove a RBI single up the middle to score Skyler Ramos and Alyssa Orr to make it 4-1 in favor of the Cyclones.
SLU answered, scoring its final run of the day on a solo homer by Jocelyn Abbott in the home half of the second inning.
Orr, who started in left field for the Cyclones, tallied a RBI single up the middle to bring Alesia Ranches in to score in the top of the third, extending the ISU lead to 5-2.
Following a pair of scoreless innings, Williams and Mikayla Ramos put the finishing touches on Iowa State's second win of the weekend. The duo collected back-to-back RBI base hits in the top of the sixth, as Iowa State went on to win, 7-2.

The Cyclones and Billikens are set to close out their three-game series on Sunday at the Billiken Sports Center. First pitch is set for noon CT.
