AMES, Iowa – The Iowa State volleyball team put a Big 12-best 12 onto the 2020-21 Academic All-Big 12 Volleyball Team, announced by the conference on Tuesday. Eleven of the 12 Cyclone honorees made the First Team.
Leading the way was a pair of Cyclones who were nominated with perfect 4.00 GPAs, Abby Greiman (Animal Science major) and Annie Hatch (Animal Ecology). Both earned their first career Academic All-Big 12 First Team nods.
Seniors Izzy Enna (Apparel, Merchandising and Design) and Piper Mauck (Design) were named to the Academic All-Big 12 First Team for the third time in their careers, while Brooke Andersen (Supply Chain Management) and Taylor Baranski (Business Analytics & Accounting) each earned All-Big 12 First Team honors for a second-straight season. Eleanor Holthaus (Communication Studies & Psychology) was a Second Team honoree in 2019, but made a step up the ladder in 2020-21 to the First Team. Avery Rhodes (Apparel, Merchandising and Design) returned to the Academic All-Big 12 recipient list and made a step up, having earned Second Team honors in 2018.
Joining Greiman and Hatch as first-time honorees were First Teamers Jaiden Centeno (Kinesiology and Health), Kenzie Mantz (Elementary Education) and Michal Schuler (Child, Adult and Family Services), while Kate Shannon (Kinesiology and Health) earned Second Team honors for her first career nod.
