WACO, Texas – No. 38 Iowa State fell to No. 9 Baylor, 4-0, Saturday in the semifinals of the Big 12 Championship. With the loss, ISU is 13-7 overall, while Baylor improves to 23-3 this season.
Baylor clinched the doubles point with wins at No. 3 and No. 1 doubles to go up 1-0.
The Cyclones forced a third set in three of the singles matches, but the Bears were too much in the end.
Thasaporn Naklo and Miska Kadleckova went to a third set after dropping their first, while Chie Kezuka won her first set and was in the third when play was halted in all three matches.
The Bears clinched the match with singles wins at No. 5, No. 2 and No. 6.
Iowa State awaits its postseason fate with the NCAA Tournament Selection Show set to be held Monday, May 3 at 6 p.m.
