MADISON, Wisconsin – The Iowa State women's cross country team continued to build towards postseason on Friday at the Nuttycombe Wisconsin Invitational. In a field that included 24 teams ranked in the USTFCCCA National Top 30, the Cyclones battled to a 27th place finish in the team standings with 631 points.
Dana Feyen stepped up to lead the Iowa State contingent, with the Wisconsin native taking 56th place in 20:34.6, over 20 seconds faster than she ran at the Nuttycombe last season. Madelynn Hill was the next Cyclone across the line in 82nd in 20:46.5, 25 seconds faster than she was over the Zimmer Championships Course in 2021.
Brenna Cohoon continued her strong bounce-back season in 140th in 21:06.8, dropping 37 seconds off her mark from last season. Kiki Connell (172nd, 21:22.2), Janette Schraft (192nd, 21:32.7) and freshman Ashlyn Keeney (202nd, 21:39.8) rounded out the Cyclone contingent in the 'A' division. Connell and Keeney both improved by over 20 positions over the final 2,000 meters of the race.
A trio of freshmen ran for ISU in the 'B' race, with Kaylee Tobaben leading the way with a 67th place finish in 22:14.2.
