The Lead: After a season-opening victory on Monday, the Iowa State men's basketball team returns to Hilton Coliseum to face the North Carolina A&T Aggies. Tipoff against the Aggies is set for 12 p.m.
Storylines:
Prior to the game, Iowa State will honor the 2021-22 team by unveiling the 2022 Sweet 16 banner. Last year's squad was the sixth in school history to advance to the Sweet 16.
This will be the second all-time meeting between the Cyclones and Aggies, as Iowa State beat North Carolina A&T 86-57 at Hilton Coliseum on Nov. 20, 2012. It will be the first time T.J. Otzelberger will face the Aggies as a head coach.
Iowa State senior Gabe Kalscheur is the only member of the roster to have faced the Aggies, doing so during his freshman year at Minnesota. Kalscheur scored 10 points and had four assists.
On Wednesday, Iowa State signed the highest-ranked recruiting class in school history. The class ranks sixth in the nation by 247Sports and Rivals, while ranking seventh by ESPN.

For the first time in school history, Iowa State started a freshman point guard in back-to-back seasons with Tamin Lipsey earning the start in his Cyclone debut.
Switching Sides:
Last week, North Carolina A&T defeated Edward Waters (Fla.) 100-61 in their season-opener.
The Aggies were led by Sophomore Kam Woods who scored a game-high 22 points.
Against the Tigers, North Carolina A&T shot 51 percent from the floor and connected on 17-of-34 (50 percent) from three-point range.
The Aggie defense forced 20 turnovers, recorded 11 steals and blocked two shots in the victory over Edward Waters.
