Holmes Named Cyclone Club Student-Athlete of the Week

AMES, Iowa – Jaren Holmes has been named the Cyclone Club Student-Athlete of the Week after leading the Iowa State men's basketball team to a 2-0 mark on the opening week of the season.
The senior guard led the Cyclones in scoring on the week, with a game-high 23 points against IUPUI and 13 against North Carolina A&T. He is one of five players in the Big 12 averaging at least 18 points a game, while playing the fewest minutes of the five.
Holmes scored his 23 points against IUPUI on 50 percent shooting from the field, including 1-of-3 from beyond the arc. He added four rebounds, a pair of assists and three steals to his stat line in the season opener.
The Romulus, Michigan native grabbed seven rebounds against North Carolina A&T, putting him over 400 for his career.
The Iowa State men's basketball team will have a week off before it hosts the Milwaukee Panthers on Sunday, Nov. 20 at Hilton Coliseum at 5 p.m. The game can be streamed on Big 12 Now on ESPN+ and tickets are available at this link.
