Denae Fritz did not disappoint in her first "official" game back for Iowa State after missing all but three games last season due to injury. She marked her return to Hilton's floor with nine points, a career-high 10 rebounds and a team-best +/- of +34.

Wednesday was National Signing Day and though the focus will be on 2022-23 at Hilton Coliseum on Thursday night, Cyclone Nation was introduced to the 2023-24 newcomers as Iowa State made five additions in Jalynn Bristow (forward, Wichita Falls, Texas), Addy Brown (forward, Derby, Kan.), Audi Crooks (center, Algona, Iowa), Arianna Jackson (guard, Des Moines, Iowa) and Kelsey Joens (guard, Iowa City, Iowa).
