Four Cyclones Earn Academic All-Big 12 Accolades

AMES, Iowa – Four Iowa State men's basketball players earned Academic All-Big 12 honors for their efforts in the classroom, as announced Tuesday by the Big 12 Conference.
Graduate student Eric Steyer earned his fourth career first-team honor. Steyer (Ames, Iowa) is pursuing his master's degree in information systems and business analytics after graduating last year with a bachelor's degree in statistics.
A trio of Cyclones earned second-team accolades.
Carter Boothe (Leon, Iowa) earned his third career second-team honor while pursuing a degree in elementary education. George Conditt IV (Chicago, Ill.) and Caleb Grill (Wichita, Kan.) earned their first career Academic All-Big 12 honors, with both landing on the second team. Conditt is majoring in event management and Grill is a history major.
First-team honorees have a GPA of 3.20 or better, while second-team members hold a GPA of 3.00-3.19.
In total, the Academic All-Big 12 teams had 32 honorees, 19 on the first team and 13 on the second team. Iowa State was tied for the second-most team members.
