- Iowa State's selection into the NCAA Tournament field marks the 20th time the Cyclones have made the Big Dance.
- Iowa State is seeking to tie the school record with 27 wins. The Cyclones have recorded 27 wins on three occasions (1999-00, 2000-01, 2008-09).
- On Wednesday, Ashley Joens became the fourth Cyclone in school history to be named to an AP All-America Team, joining Bridget Carleton (2018-19), Angie Welle (2000-01, 2001-02) and Stacy Frese (1999-00). Joens earned Second Team honors, after being named an HM All-American the last two seasons.
- Â Iowa State placed a league-high three on the All-Big 12 First Team with Ashley Joens earning a unanimous nod and Lexi Donarski and Emily Ryan making their debut on the First Team. Iowa State's three All-Big 12 First Team selections also set a program record, with ISU placing two on the First Team in 2012-13.
- Lexi Donarski became the first Cyclone to earn Big 12 Defensive Player of the Year. Donarski held her primary defensive assignment in league play to just 9.3 points and 30 percent shooting.
- ISU has 333 treys on the season, setting a new single-season program record (303, 2018-19) and the most in Big 12 history (325, K-State 2012-13).
- Along with the barrage of 3-pointers, Iowa State is one of the most efficient 3-point shooting teams in the nation, ranking second in the country with a 38.9 percent 3-point shooting percentage.
- Ashley Joens ranks ninth in the Big 12 history with 2,307 points. She is 22 points away from passing Aaryn Ellenberg (2,328, Oklahoma) in eighth and 27 points from passing Kendra Wecker (2,333, Kansas State) in seventh.
- Emily Ryan has 228 assists on the season, which ranks second all-time on ISU's single season charts. She is 11 assists away from the ISU single-season record.
- Ryan is fourth in the country with 7.1 assists per contest, dishing out at least 10 six times this season. She also sits second nationally in overall assists with 228.
LAST TIME OUT
- No. 8 Iowa State fell in the semifinals of the Phillips 66 Big 12 Women's Basketball Championships to Texas in overtime by a score of 82-73.
- Iowa State was up 34-28 at the half, but saw its lead dwindle quickly in the third quarter. With ISU trailing by two, Beatriz Jordão was in the right spot late to tie the game with a layup with 22 seconds on the clock, while the Cyclone defense held on the other end to force overtime.
- The Cyclones couldn't keep up in overtime with Texas racing out to a 75-69 lead with under a minute to go. Iowa State could not complete the comeback, falling 82-73.
- Ashley Joens got her 16th double-double of the season and 47th of her career with a season-high 33 points and 13 rebounds.
- Lexi Donarski recorded 11 points and was the only other Cyclone to reach double figures.
- Emily Ryan scored eight points and dished nine dimes. She needs just 11 to break the ISU single-season assist record of 238.
