Volleyball Announces 2022 Schedule

AMES, Iowa – Another exciting season awaits for Iowa State volleyball, and the roadmap for the campaign has now been laid out with the announcement for the 2022 schedule on Tuesday. The fall slate features 13 home matches and 14 contests against teams who played in the NCAA Volleyball Championships last season.

Year 18 of the Christy Johnson-Lynch Era will see the Cyclones be on the road for the first two weekends of the season, the Cyclones kick off the campaign at the Rumble in the Rockies, hosted by the University of Wyoming. The season opener will be on Friday, Aug. 26 at 11 a.m. Central against Creighton, with matches following against hosts Wyoming (Aug. 26, 8 p.m.) and Wichita State (Aug. 27, 2 p.m.). The ISU road show then heads to LSU for the Tiger Challenge against Penn State (Sept. 2, Noon), LSU (Sept. 2, 7:30 p.m.) and Troy (Sept. 3, 11:30 a.m.).

Iowa State's home slate begins on Wednesday, Sept. 7 with a mid-week contest against Drake, part of the Cardinal & Gold Challenge, at 6:30 p.m. The Cyclones then roll into the weekend with the annual Iowa Corn Cy-Hawk Series showdown against Iowa (Sept. 9, 6:30 p.m.) and a match against Wright State (Sept. 10, 11 a.m.). The Cyclones will make it all three in-state foes in seven days at Hilton on Tuesday, Sept. 13 at 6:30 p.m. when UNI comes to town.

After a weekend in St. Louis, Missouri taking on hosts Saint Louis, Missouri State and Kansas City, the Cyclones begin Big 12 play on Saturday, Sept. 24 at TCU. ISU's Big 12 home opener will be on Wednesday, Sept. 28 against Baylor. The Big 12 will be returning to the traditional Wednesday-Saturday conference schedule format in 2022, with the Cyclones wrapping up the regular season on Wednesday, Nov. 23 with the Senior Night match against Oklahoma.
