Feyen Named Big 12 XC Runner of the Week

AMES, Iowa – Dana Feyen was rewarded for her victorious run at the Mizzou XC Opener, leading the No. 26 Iowa State women to a first-place team finish with Big 12 Runner of the Week, the conference announced on Tuesday. This is a first career weekly award for Feyen.
Feyen and the Cyclones opened the season last Thursday at the Mizzou XC Opener in Columbia, with Feyen the first across the line in a 5K time of 17:24.2. Feyen's performance led a dominant Iowa State performance, with ISU taking the top-three spots and six of the top seven spots.
She was always among the lead group during the duration of the race, with herself and teammate Madelynn Hill pulling away in the latter stages to set up a Cyclone showdown for the win, which Feyen took in just over two seconds. Feyen's final 1,000m of 3:22.8 was the fastest in the field.
Feyen and the Cyclones will be back in action on Friday, Sept. 23 at the Roy Griak Invitational, hosted by Minnesota.
