The Iowa Corn Cy-Hawk Series returns to Kinnick Stadium for the first time since 2018 as the Cyclones and Hawkeyes meet for the 69th time in series history. Iowa holds a 46-22 edge in the all-time series, including 25-14 in Iowa City. In the last 24 years, Iowa has a 13-10 edge in the series.
The Cyclones have five wins in Iowa City since 1998, with the most recent coming in 2014 when Cole Netten knocked through a 42-yard field goal in the waning moments.

Gerry Vaughn is the only Cyclone to have played in the series at Kinnick Stadium, logging seven special teams snaps in 2018. Minnesota transfer MJ Anderson played in Kinnick Stadium as a team member of the Gophers.
FOUR THINGS
4 – Four Cyclones made their first career starts against SEMO last weekend, including QB Hunter Dekkers … Dekkers went 25-for-31 for 293 yards and four touchdowns … the four touchdown passes were the most-ever by a Cyclone QB in their first career start.
3 – Xavier Hutchinson is one of four players nationally this season with three receiving touchdowns in a game … he's the first Cyclone to pull in three receiving TDs in a game since Quenton Bundrage did it against Iowa in 2013.
2 – ISU is looking to start 2-0 for the first time since the 2012 season, which included a 9-6 win at Iowa in the second game.
1 – Will McDonald ranks first nationally among active NCAA career sack leaders with 29.0 … McDonald was held without a sack against SEMO … he had 1.5 sacks against the Hawkeyes last season.

Iowa State redshirt junior running back Jirehl Brock waited for his opportunity and in his second career start made the most of it, rushing for 104 yards in the season opener, including 99 in the second half. His 23-yard stop-and-go run in the fourth quarter went viral.

In 2011, Iowa State won a 44-41 triple overtime thriller at Jack Trice Stadium. James White scored on a four-yard option play in the third overtime to give the Cyclones an unbelievable win in which they came from behind on three different occasions in the fourth quarter and overtime.
