Kalscheur Tabbed Cyclone Club Student-Athlete of the Week

AMES, Iowa – Gabe Kalscheur has been named the Cyclone Club Student-Athlete of the Week after pacing No. 14 Iowa State in scoring against Texas Tech and No. 2 Kansas last week.
Kalscheur led the Big 12 in scoring with a 24.0 average in an 84-50 Cyclone win against the Red Raiders and a narrow 62-60 loss at Kansas.
The Edina, Minnesota native continued his hot-shooting stretch against Texas Tech with a season-high 25 points on 10-of-14 shooting, including 5-of-6 from deep. His 10 field goals and seven rebounds against Texas Tech were also season highs.
Kalscheur once again led the Iowa State scoring effort Saturday against the Jayhawks. The senior guard recorded 23 points and made 4-of-8 attempts from beyond the arc, including a game-tying triple with 35 second remaining. Kalscheur added six rebounds to his stat line.
On the week, Kalscheur was 9-of-14 (64.3%) from 3-point range, the most 3-pointers made in the Big 12 last week.
Iowa State returns to Hilton Coliseum Tuesday, Jan. 17 to host No. 10 Texas at 7 p.m. on Big 12 Now on ESPN+.
