STILLWATER, Okla. – For the 26th time in program history, the Iowa State women's cross country team will get a chance to compete for a national championship. The Cyclones ran to a second-place finish at the NCAA Midwest Regional to earn automatic qualifier status.
Trailing only Oklahoma State in the team race, Iowa State also picked up two points in the Iowa Corn Cy-Hawk Series as Iowa finished 19th overall.
Madelynn Hill led the Iowa State effort with a fourth-place individual finish, earning All-Region honors for the third-straight season. Her time of 20:35.4 was followed closely by several Cyclones. Dana Feyen, Maelle Porcher and Janette Schraft also earned All-Region honors, finishing in the top-25 while Kiki Connell just missed with a 26th-place finish. Feyen, a 2022 NCAA Championship individual qualifier, finished 11th in 20:44.8 while Porcher was also Top 15 with a 14th-place finish in 20:57.8. Schraft followed in 20th at 21:09.3 and Connell ran in 21:23.6 to round out Iowa State's top five.
Other finishers for the Cyclones were Sheridan Wheeler in 40th with a time of 21:33.8 and Kaylee Tobaben in 62nd with a time of 21:56.1.
