AMES, Iowa – Morgan Brandt and Maya Duckworth have been named to the Academic All-District team by the CSC (College Sports Communicators) for their work on and off the court.

Brandt was a force for the Cyclones at setter, totaling 1,132 assists and 15 double-doubles on the season. Showing her versatility, Brandt also had 247 digs, 92 kills, 49 blocks and 28 aces. The Sumner, Iowa native's total of 92 kills is the 12th-highest single season total by a setter in program history. Brandt also had two 60-plus assists outings, tied for the fifth-highest single season match total by a Cyclone.
Duckworth went out to total the second-highest number of kills on the team in her sophomore year with 316. The outside hitter also had 207 digs, 46 blocks and 18 aces. Duckworth set career highs of 20 kills and 17 digs this season in addition to having 17 double-figure kill performances and seven double-doubles.
To be eligible for the honor, student-athletes must register a cumulative GPA of 3.50 or greater while being a key player participating in at least 90 percent of sets or have started in 66 percent of matches. All-District members will now move on to the Academic All-America ballot.
