Ames, Iowa - Mike Strachan is one of the greatest running backs in Iowa State history. The two-time first team All-Big Eight back ended his career as the school;s all-time leading rusher, amassing 3,010 yards, including back-to-back 1,000-yard seasons in 1972 and 1973.

Strachan enjoyed a six-year NFL career with the New Orleans Saints and will be enshrined into ISU's Athletics Hall of Fame class of 2023.
