SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. - Recent Iowa State graduate Gabe Kalscheur has signed on to play with the Golden State Warriors in a pair of upcoming NBA Summer Leagues. The Warriors will play in the California Classic Summer League July 3 and 5 in Sacramento before playing in the NBA2k24 Summer League July 7-17 in Las Vegas.Â
Kalscheur was a major contributor to the Cyclones in his two years in Ames, helping Iowa State to a pair of NCAA Tournaments. During his senior season, Kalscheur earned All-Big 12 Second Team honors and was named to the Big 12 All-Defensive Team. He was also an NABC All-District 8 Second Team selection and played in the Reese's College All-Star Game, helping the West Team to a victory.
In 68 career games at Iowa State, Kalscheur made 57 starts and scored in double figures 33 times. He had nine games of 20 points or more, including a 30 point performance against Memphis in the 2021 Upsie NIT Season Tip-Off. Kalscheur was named the MVP of the tournament. He started the final 22 games of his career at Iowa State, connecting on a 3-pointer in each of his last 10 games.Â
Kalscheur averaged 11.2 points in his time at Iowa State, including a career-best 12.9 this past season. He shot 30.1 percent from 3-point range during his two years in Ames, connecting on 113-of-376 attempts. He hit 73 3-pointers in his senior campaign.Â
