AMES, Iowa – Iowa State volleyball has officialized its non-conference schedule to complete the 2023 slate. The schedule includes two home tournaments and 14 home matches. Season tickets are now available for new season ticket holders or to renew.
Christy Johnson-Lynch will embark on her 19th year leading the team, beginning with the annual Cardinal and Gold scrimmage at Hilton August 12 at 1 p.m. The Cyclones will then head to Columbia, Mo. August 19 for an exhibition match vs. Missouri before opening the home schedule with the Cardinal and Gold Challenge Aug. 25-27 facing South Dakota and DePaul. Iowa State will then travel to Phoenix, Ariz. for a tournament against Arizona, Long Island and Grand Canyon Sept 1-2.
The annual Cy-Hawk series will follow on Sept. 6 at 6 p.m. in Iowa City.
ISU has two tournaments to follow with one in Omaha against Omaha and Creighton Sept 9-10 and the Cyclone Invite at Hilton Sept. 14-16. Teams at the Cyclone Invite include Drake, Ohio and UCSB. Iowa State will wrap up non-conference play at the tournament taking on in-state foe Drake Sept. 16 at 2 p.m.
The Big 12 schedule released earlier features nine home matches including three series vs. Baylor, Oklahoma and Kansas. ISU will also host Texas Tech and new Big 12 opponents UCF and Cincinnati. Dates and times are subject to change based on broadcast selections which will be released at a later date.
