Cyclones in First After Day One of Zach Johnson Invitational

WEST DES MOINES, Iowa - The Cyclones showed up to the Zach Johnson Invitational ready to play and end the day in first place.

Luke Gutschewski is in first place following the first day of the tournament. Gutschewski had 11 birdies and one eagle. He also had his low round of the season with a 65.

Zach May tied for second with a new career low round (66). May matched Gutschewski's 11 birdies.

Paul Beauvy and Dianchao Wu both tied for 14th with a score of 141. Wu had a career low round (70) along with nine birdies. Beauvy had one eagle and five birdies.

Owen Sawyer placed 24th with a score of one-over-par. Sawyer was the third player to have a career low round with a 70.

Lukas Pany competed as an individual tying for 14th. Pany tied his season low round (69) while also having seven birdies.

The Cylones had the lowest round of all teams in the field with a 272 and will be back in action for the final round of the Zach Johnson Invitational Tuesday, Sept. 26.
