Cyclones Jump Three Spots to Conclude N.I.T.

TUCSON, Ariz. - The Iowa State men's golf team finished the second round of 18 that was suspended due to darkness and completed the third round of the N.I.T. The Cyclones were able to make a jump of three places, led by Owen Sawyer.

Sawyer was leading the Cyclones prior to the suspension of gameplay on Monday. He had six birdies in the last round. Sawyer had a third-round score of 66 for a new career low-18 and an overall score of 208, a career three-round low.

Paul Beauvy came in second for the Cyclones with a 68 in the third round. Beauvy had four birdies in both the second and third rounds of the tournament. Beauvy carded a 68 in the third round, a new season best.

Zach May improved throughout the tournament with a lower score each round (74-73-70). May's third round consisted of three birdies and an eagle, his first of the season.

Luke Gutschewski had four birdies in a row on holes five through eight. He tacked on two more birdies on at holes three and ten, leading to a three-round score of 219.

Dianchao Wu finished with a three-round score of 223. He had nine birdies throughout the tournament.

Following a three-week hiatus, the Cyclones will continue their spring season in LaQuinta, California, playing in the Prestige at PGA West. This three-day tournament will commence on Monday, Feb. 19 and conclude on Wednesday, Feb. 21.
