Bastida Withdraws from NWCA All-Star Classic

AMES, Iowa – Iowa State heavyweight Yonger Bastida has withdrawn from the NWCA All-Star Classic on Nov. 16 due to a minor injury suffered during training.
Bastida is expected to miss 2-3 weeks.
"Yonger suffered a minor knee strain warming up yesterday and we have been advised to sit him for a couple of weeks," head coach Kevin Dresser said. "Unfortunately, he will not be ready for his opportunity at the All-Star Classic in State College. If all goes well, he will be ready by Nov. 23."
No. 6 Iowa State opens its season against No. 21 Stanford on Friday, Nov. 8 at 7 p.m. inside Hilton Coliseum.
