AMES, Iowa – The Iowa State tennis team heads to Memphis, Tennessee on Wednesday to compete in the ITA Central Regional Championships.
Anna Supapitch Kuearum and Ashlee Narker will begin play on Thursday, while the other five Cyclones participating in the tournament will start on Wednesday.
A host of Cyclones will begin play at 9 a.m. Wednesday. Cristina Ramos Sierra will face Wichita State's Giorgia Roselli, while Mari Paz Alberto Vilar will go up against Arkansas' Katie Ferguson. Valeska San Martin Ramirez will begin her tournament against Saint Louis' Elizabeth Barlow and Julia Camblor will play against Saint Louis' Emmerson White.
Suzanie Pretorius will conclude the Cyclones' first round matches at 11 a.m. against Nebraska's Reya Coe.
All players will be guaranteed two matches on Wednesday and will have their second match start approximately four hours after their first match begins.
Last Time Out
The Cyclones are coming off a successful trip to Fort Collins, Colorado for the Jon Messick Invitational. ISU had 3 singles players and two doubles pairings pick up a flight championship. The team accumulated an overall record of 13-4 in singles and 12-5 in doubles.
ITA Central Regional Championships
The ITA Central Regional Championships will begin on Wednesday, Oct. 9 and will feature both singles and doubles action. The two singles finalists and the doubles champion pairing will earn a trip to the NCAA Individual Championships.
