AMES, Iowa – Iowa State senior guard Hannah Belanger has been named to the College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District team, the organization announced Tuesday morning.
The award recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the court and in the classroom. Student-athletes must have a 3.5 cumulative GPA and the proper athletic accomplishments to make the ballot. Academic All-District® honorees advance to the CSC Academic All-America® ballot. First-, second and third-team Academic All-America® honorees will be announced April 17.
Belanger joined the Cyclones for her final year of eligibility following four seasons at Truman State. Playing in all 33 games and making 32 starts for Iowa State, she averaged 9.3 points per game while passing out 70 assists and averaging 31 minutes per game. The Grafton, Wisconsin native sunk a team-high 74 3-pointers while shooting nearly 39 percent from deep, the second-best percentage among Big 12 players.
A nutritional science major, Belanger plans to attend PA school following her graduation from Iowa State this spring.
