Cyclones Complete Day One of Colleton River Collegiate

BLUFFTON, S.C. - The Cyclones traveled to the two-day Colleton River Collegiate, the first round was played Monday morning and the second round was suspended due to darkness. The Cyclones are in 11 with a score of four-under-par.Â
Georgia Southern is in first following day one with a score of 25-under-par. Reece Coleman and Brycen Jones from Georgia Southern are in a four-way tie for first with Cincinnati's Ryan Ford and Michigan State's Drew Hackett.
Tied for ninth with a score of five-under-par, Luke Gutschewski leads the Cyclones through day one. Gutschewski had six birdies for a first round score of 67. Freshman Owen Sawyer is tied for 26th. Sawyer had an eagle and two birdies in the first round and has four birdies through the beginning of the second round.Â
Dianchao Wu is tied for 50 with a score of one-over-par and five birdies after day one. Paul Beauvy trails Wu by one stroke and had a first round score of 76 with four birdies. Zach May is tied for 76 with six birdies through day one.Â
Hunter Johnson is playing in the Colleton River Collegiate as an Individual for the Cyclones. Johnson has one birdie in each round at the end of day one.Â
The Cyclones had a first round score of 288. The Iowa State men's golf team will finish the second round Tuesday, March 5 followed by the third and final round.Â
