Cyclone Club Athlete of the Week: Karlie Charles

AMES, Iowa – Karlie Charles has been named the Cyclone Club Athlete of the Week after helping Iowa State softball to a 3-1 week, including a series win over No. 5 Oklahoma State. It marked the highest-ranked series win in program history.
Charles tossed a team-high 13 innings on the week and registered a team-best 1.62 ERA across three appearances. The senior had six strikeouts while opposing batters hit just .178 against her.
In a 5-2 win over No. 5 Oklahoma State on Saturday, Charles pitched three scoreless frames in her second start of the week, not allowing a hit.
Charles also pitched a complete game, logging five strikeouts and allowing only three hits, in an 8-2 midweek victory over DePaul.
Iowa State softball is back in action Tuesday against Iowa in the Iowa Corn Cy-Hawk series. First pitch from the Cyclone Sports Complex is slated for 4 p.m. on Big 12 Now on ESPN+
