Cyclone Club to Hold Fourth Annual Day of Honor
08.26.2024 | Cyclone Club
AMES, Iowa – The Iowa State Cyclone Club will hold its fourth annual Day of Honor during Saturday's football game against North Dakota. Throughout the game, Iowa State Athletics will proudly recognize Cyclone Club members for their participation, generosity, and loyalty.
A group of randomly selected Cyclone Club members, representing all 6,500 club members, will participate in an on-field recognition between the first and second quarters, and Cyclone Club t-shirts will be thrown into the stands throughout the game. Additionally, the Cyclone football team will wear "The Heart of the Nation" stickers on their helmets during the game.
"Our annual Day of Honor tradition allows our department to thank the more than 6,500 Cyclone Club members who continue to give generously in support of our athletics program," said Iowa State Director of Athletics Jamie Pollard. "Every dollar raised by the Cyclone Club is used to provide a first-class academic and athletic experience for the 450 student-athletes who proudly wear the Cardinal and Gold, and we deeply appreciate the continued outpouring of financial support from our donors who gave a record $17.7 M last year."
"Intercollegiate athletics is in the midst of great change, and it will be critical that we continue to increase our donor base to provide the resources necessary for our teams to continuing competing for Big 12 and national championships."
The Cyclone Club spearheads the fundraising efforts for the Iowa State Athletics department and gifts of all sizes directly impact the lives of all ISU student-athletes. Annual Cyclone Club gifts provide student-athletes the opportunity to compete in their sport at the highest level, while preparing them to utilize their Iowa State degree once their athletic careers have concluded. Iowa State Athletics does not receive any State or University funding to operate, thereby making it one of the nation's only financially self-sufficient athletics programs.
Thank you, Cyclone Club members, you are The Heart of the Nation!
